A 65-year-old man and a 19-year-old are now both charged after a man’s hand was severed with a sword at a home on Waterman Street in Texarkana, Texas.
A 65-year-old man and a 19-year-old are now both charged after a man’s hand was severed with a sword at a home on Waterman Street in Texarkana, Texas.
Sachet Gilbert, 65, was arrested days after Deroyce Brown, 19, who allegedly carried out the attack. The victim told police Brown struck him with the sword multiple times, cutting off his hand and causing other serious injuries. He said both men accused him of stealing and that Gilbert told him, “You finna die tonight.”
The victim escaped and sought help from a nearby home. Police later found Gilbert and Brown inside the house.
Both face aggravated assault charges and are being held on $500,000 bond each.
