Families in Arkansas and Texas can save money this August during their state’s annual back-to-school sales tax holidays.

Arkansas’s tax-free weekend runs August 2–3, waiving state and local sales taxes on clothing, school supplies, electronics, and more. Retailers must participate.

Texas’s event follows August 8–10, with no sales tax on clothing, backpacks, and school supplies under $100. Online purchases also qualify.

Officials urge families to plan ahead and take advantage of these savings before the new school year begins.
