Two Texarkana firefighters and an engineer helped safely deliver a baby during an emergency call on Friday, July 10.
Firefighters Austin Wardlaw and Hayden Teer, along with Engineer Brett Suggs of the Texarkana Arkansas Fire Department, assisted with the delivery while working in the field. Wardlaw and Teer are both set to complete their EMT training later this month, putting their skills into action during the call.
The department praised the crew for their quick response, saying it was a welcome reminder of the rewarding moments that come with serving the community. Wardlaw was photographed riding with the ambulance after the successful delivery.
