The Texarkana Arkansas City Board of Directors has voted to place tax liens on dozens of properties to recover cleanup costs.
Liens were filed on seven properties where substandard buildings were demolished, along with 47 lots the city has maintained by mowing. The Miller County Tax Collector will record the liens as delinquent taxes, which must be paid before the properties can be sold.
In other business, board members approved more than $53,000 for Country Club Road improvements and $325,000 for drainage design work on County Avenue and Bobby Ferguson Pond.
The next meeting is set for March 16 at City Hall.
