Hope Baking Company says it will permanently close its manufacturing facility on July 25, eliminating about 250 jobs.

Company leaders told employees the decision came after months of trying to secure financing and explore options to keep the plant open, but those efforts were unsuccessful.

Employees will receive their final paychecks and any accrued unused paid time off. They have also been instructed to return all company property following their separation.

The closure comes about two and a half years after the company announced a $37 million expansion. Local and state officials say they are working with workforce agencies to help affected employees find jobs and access training and transition services.
