The Ashdown School District superintendent has been placed on administrative leave with pay following an Arkansas Legislative Audit of his previous school district.

The Ashdown School District superintendent has been placed on administrative leave with pay following an Arkansas Legislative Audit of his previous school district.

Robert Poole was placed on leave after the audit found more than 34-thousand dollars in improper spending during his time as superintendent of the Prescott School District.

The audit covers July 2022 through June 2025 and has been referred to prosecutors. A special prosecutor has been appointed.

Chris Scarborough will serve as interim superintendent while the matter is under review. School officials say they have no further comment because it is a personnel matter.
